Spanx HQ is located in Atlanta–a city nicknamed Hot-lanta for it’s steamy weather. But this week, the ATL has been chilled by a serious cold snap. With temps in the single digits (and wind chills below zero!), the Spanx-ters are cooking up some of our favorite winter foods.
The Arctic blast is hitting everyone hard, so we thought we’d share some of our recipes to help you fend off the frigid temps. From steamy soups to decadent desserts, it’s the perfect time of year to indulge in some culinary comfort.
Check out this recipe for Spanx-y Red Velvet Hot Chocolate (care of Guru of the Outdoors), and visit the “Spanx-ters Love…” board on Pinterest for even more belly-warming delights!

Vanilla Whipped Cream
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar

With New Year’s Eve less than a week away, the Spanx-ters are making resolutions for 2014. Check out our plans for the coming year and share your own in the comments!
Callie: I want to get in shape for my wedding in July!
Charlotte: I definitely want to be in shape for my wedding in October, but I’m also excited to get started on design projects around the house.
Lauren: Is it cliche to say I’m going to eat healthier?
Michelle: I plan to get involved with more charitable causes. I’ve learned a lot about giving from working at Spanx and I want to find my own ways to give back.
Alison: I want to spend more time on hobbies that make me happy: Take a dance class, find new music and food festivals and even try my hand at standup comedy. Eric: I want to make time to see more live music.
Missy: My husband and I just bought our first house, so I want to get settled in so we can start entertaining our friends and family there.
Maggie: I’ll be spending as much time with my husband and our beautiful new baby boy as I can!

Tis the season to wear leggings that are soft, slimming and easy-to-wear! If they’re on the naughty list, the nice list or somewhere in between, these leggings will help every woman look chic and shapely this holiday season.
Whether doing some last-minute shopping, decking the halls or attending a holiday party, SPANX leggings offer a look fit for every festive fashionista. Velvet, corduroy and riding-inspired styles are on-trend for the season, and because shapely silhouettes never go out of style, each pair of bottoms is topped off with a shaping waistband and flattering features.
The most festive of all fabrics, velvet, is a holiday must-have. Ready-to-Wow™ Velvet Leggings ($98) are super soft and super chic, giving any yuletide look a luxe leg up. Pair them with a silk blouse and scarf for a style that looks as fabulous as it feels.
The Ready-to-Wow Riding Leggings ($98) pay sartorial homage to the riding pant—a classic look that never goes out of style. Take the reigns and gallop into the season by pairing these equestrian-inspired leggings with a chic statement coat for a look that’s sure to take best-in-show.
Strike a Cord
Chic. Stylish. Classic. The corduroy pant is a cooler-weather staple, and the SPANX Ready-to-Wow Corduroy Legging ($98) provides a comfy way to get that look. From the traditional weave to the real rear pockets, these pants are a figure-flattering take on the original. Pair with this season’s must-have plaid shirts for a truly modern take on two traditional styles.
We celebrated a new crop of Spanx-ter moms-to-be at a Baby it’s Cold Outside-themed baby shower on December 12. The winter theme carried across the snacks (snow cones, hot chocolate) and décor (snowflakes hung from the ceiling and stuck to the windows).
The moms (all of whom are having boys!) compared baby bumps and chatted about what to expect before they were given gifts from each department and, of course, received sterling silver Tiffany & Co. spoons from Laurie Ann and Sara.
Congratulations to moms-to-be Carrie, Allyson, Emily, Wendy Alexis, and Hilary (not pictured)!
